Steampunk Event

Steampunk NZ Festival started in 2009, when 'League of Victorian Imagineers Steampunk: tomorrow as it used to be' exhibition was held at the Forrester Gallery. Inspired by the creativity a ball and fashion show were added the next year. From humble beginnings the Steampunk NZ Festival has evolved into three days of events, workshops and activities; suitable for locals, tourists and Steampunk enthusiasts. In 2016 The Gardian named Oamaru as the 'Steampunk Capital of the World'.
