AniMinneapolis announces Samurai Dan and Lady Jillian

Minneapolis, MN - March 16, 2011 - AniMinneapolis, the most exciting new three-day anime, video gaming, and pop culture convention to come to the Minneapolis metro area, is excited to announce the attendance of full-time martial arts and samurai weapons instruction team, Samurai Dan and Lady Jillian. AniMinneapolis will be held July 8-10, 2011 at The Northland Inn in Minneapolis, MN.

The husband and wife team of Daniel and Jillian Coglan are full-time martial arts instructors who specialize in 16th century Samurai arts. While not traveling around the country performing and teaching the ancient ways of the Samurai, the duo teaches at their dojo, the Kojokan. With a combined 35 years of experience, their show is a unique blend of history, combative skill, and humor, designed to educate and entertain audiences both large and small.

Beyond their martial arts skills, the dynamic duo collaborated to write, direct, host, and star in a 12 episode TV series entitled "The Way of the Samurai". Daniel is also an author with several martial arts articles published, and he is currently working on his second full-length novel.

Samurai Dan and Lady Jillian will be joining Shannon Townsend and Richard Townsend (Otaku-no-Yen) as guests of the Minneapolis anime convention. Additional guests are still to be announced.

AniMinneapolis is a three-day convention happening at The Northland Inn in Minneapolis, MN from July 8-10, 2011. Events at the Minneapolis anime convention, AniMinneapolis, will include a cosplay masquerade, cosplay photoshoots, a rave dance, anime showings, video gaming, table top games, an artist alley, a dealers room, and much more.
